Who are GK-12 Fellows? These are UNM graduate students, pursuing a PhD or MS in OSE or another optics-related project, who are assigned to local schools, where they spend 10h a week working with science teachers, jointly developing learning modules based on optics and photonics, and serving as resource and role models for K-12 students. They come from Departments such as Electrical and Computer Engineering, Physics and Astronomy, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics and Statistics, Chemical and Nuclear Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and more.
