Multicultural Engineering Program

The mission of the Multicultural Engineering Program (MEP) in the School of Engineering at the University of New Mexico is to recruit and retain underrepresented and financially needy students in all disciplines of engineering, computer science, mathematics and the physical sciences. MEP accomplishes its mission through multiple services offered to students and with programs sponsored by internal and external sources.

There are three professionally affiliated student organizations supported within MEP:

• the Hispanic Engineering and Science Organization (HESO),
• the American Indian Science and Engineering Society (AISES), and
• the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE).
