For students pursing engineering and computer science at UNM, Engineering Student Services provides academic resources, professional development advice, and community building experiences are available through.
ESS offers advisement, tutoring, scholarships, and networking to enhance student success in engineering, math or science degree programs. School of Engineering students receive a focused orientation, internal advisement, and in-person meetings to meet individual needs. Incoming students who would like to begin the pre-engineering advisement process should contact the ESS Advisement Office at 505-277-4354.
ESS offers summer science and math pre-college programs to students in grades K-12, including two intensive four-week summer residential programs that help high school students prepare for the rigors of UNM's engineering and computer science curricula.
ESS also offers SOE students programs, NA-STEM, NSF Scholarship Program, and WISE, which support and promote student interests in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.
The ESS team, as well as School of Engineering faculty and advisors, conduct recruiting activities to build a pipeline to get more students into technical fields. The recruiting and outreach process starts with the very youngest learners and extends through high school. These activities include:
